Sydney Bernice Sweeney (born September 12, 1997, in Spokane, Washington) is an American actress and producer known for her roles in critically acclaimed and popular television series. She moved to Los Angeles at age 13 to pursue acting after preparing a detailed five-year business plan to convince her parents. Her career gained significant traction with roles as the devout Eden Spencer in The Handmaid's Tale and the complex Emaline Addario in the Netflix series Everything Sucks! Sweeney achieved mainstream stardom and earned Primetime Emmy nominations for her complex performances as Cassie Howard in the HBO teen drama Euphoria (2019–) and the privileged Olivia Mossbacher in the first season of the anthology series The White Lotus (2021). Beyond television, she has appeared in films like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), the romantic comedy Anyone but You (2023), and the biopic Reality (2023), in which she portrayed whistleblower Reality Winner. Sweeney is also active as a producer, having launched her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, to champion female authors, screenwriters, and producers.
